Kaura killings not religious or ethnic-ACF

The Northern social cultural organization,Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) said last week’s killings in Kaura LGA of Kaduna State has nothing to do with religion or ethnicity, as the people in thecommunities where these killings took place have been living together in peace for decades.

The forum made this assertion in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, lhaji Muhammed Ibrahim yesterday while reacting to the gruesome killing of over 100 people and destruction of property in Kaura local government, of Kaduna state.

“The federal government should therefore investigate the possibility of external influence considering the sophistication of arms used by the gunmen and insurgents.

“ACF extends its sympathy and condolence to the affected persons, families, the government and people of Kaduna state over the unfortunate incident”, it said.

Meanwhile there was a reported reprisal attack at Ungwan Rimi in ZangonKataf local government area yesterday, where six Fulani herdsmen lost their lives. The spokes person of the Miyetti Allah in the area, Alhaji Usman Abdulaziz who said he was just returning from the burial rites for the victims described the incident as very sad. He called for peace and calm and asked the security agents to intensify efforts to fish out the perpetrators of the act.
