Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a 75 years old man, Ali Isah for sexually defiling his neighbour’s three years old daughter.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Muhammad Mahmoud-Fari, stated this while parading the suspect yesterday at the Command office in Lafia, the state capital.
Mahmoud-Fari added that the suspect was arrested on Monday from kandere village in Kokona local government area of the state following an intelligence report from the villagers.
According to him, “In our investigation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime. This is an unfortunate situation in this country.
It is regrettable. Violence against women is a heinous crime. The man will be taken to court for charges.”
He also said that the victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Karu local government area of the state.
Mahmoud-Fari however called on the general public, especially parents and guardians to be very vigilant and weary of those around their wards.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Ali Isah who admitted to have committed the crime in an interview with newsmen claimed to have two wives and eleven children adding that he was compelled by satanic forces.
