Gen. Abdulsalami’s son, brother emerge as Wakilin/ Walin Minna

The Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Faruq Bahago, has bestowed the traditional title of Walin Minna Karami on Isah Dan Asabe Abubakar, the son of former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
He explained that the ex- Head of States son deserves the title for following the footsteps of his father in attracting development to the emirate.
The two were turbaned at the weekend at the Emir’s Palace in Minna, hence, Isah Abubakar has become the holder of the Walin Minna in junior capacity while his father General Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar remained the substantive Walin Minna.
The monarch also installed the junior brother to the former Head of State, Mallam Yakubu Dan Asabe Abubakar as the Wakilin Minna.
He said that the philanthropic gesture of the recipients across the country were worthy of recognition and emulation.
According to him, “ I urge you to whole heartedly receive these titles which should not be seen as burden. You should see the positions as opportunity to bring in good friends to the emirate. You are worthy of these titles because you have taken to the footsteps of your fathers in all aspects.”
The royal father urged them to remain dedicated and committed to the development of Minna Emirate, adding that their appointments were based on merit.
In a remark, Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello said that the appointees will bring to bear their wealth of experiences in the development of the emirate.
He advised them to always open their doors to the people of the state while commending the Emir of Minna for honouring them with the prestigious chieftaincy titles.
