AUDA- NEPAD Nigeria holds capacity building workshop, assures on poverty reduction

The African Union Development Agency AUDA -NEPAD Nigeria has organized a capacity building workshop which is designed to facilitate wealth creation job to curb youth restiveness.
The workshop held in Abuja is also meant to improve knowledge and skills of individuals with a view to preparing them to establish small businesses for sustenance.
According to the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA- NEPAD, Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, the overarching objective of the workshop is to empower the youths and Representative of women Cooperative namely: To Crest job opportunities for the youths and women; To acquire skills that will give rise to the emergence of new generation of entrepreneurs; To empower youths and women with information necessary for driving economic development and to reduce the global maladies of poverty and hunger
She noted that addressing unemployment in Nigeria is of paramount importance to this present Administration.
“This workshop is therefore very crucial because it will provide us with the necessary information and knowledge needed for future business activities. To this end, it is my honour to declare this capacity building workshop open for the economic growth and profitability of Youths and Representatives of women Cooperatives.”
Also speaking at the workshop, Director, Programmes Development and Implementation, AUDA-NEPAD, Mr. Akrejola Zacheous, said AUDA- NEPAD is irrevocably committed to poverty reduction. “And as we all know, the need to reduce poverty in Nigeria is of paramount importance to the present Administration.”
According to her, “This capacity building workshop has therefore, been tailored towards facilitating wealth creation that would alleviate the rate of poverty among youths and the women segments of our society.
“Similar poverty alleviating programmed also being driven by AUDA- NEPAD include youth vocational education and skill Aquisition for artisans and other less privileged members of the society.”
She urged the participants to pay special attention to the topics of the workshop in order to derive the maximum benefits that will prepare them for tomorrow.
