The leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) alongside the Gwagwalada FRSC Unit Command has sensitized motorists on the road safety during this year’s Ember Month in the area.
In an interview with newsmen at the venue of sensitization campaign in Gwagwalada, the FCT Sector Commander of FRSC, Wobin Ayuba Gora, urged the road users to be conscious while driving on the road.
He warned commuters against over speeding as well as dangerous overtaking, urging them not to use handset while driving.
He also advised motorists to always obey the traffic rules and regulations, and charged them to be patient throughout their journey during the festivities.
He further pleaded with motorists to deem it necessary to embark on the journey in the day time for the sake of their lives.
Gora, however, called on the entire staff of FRSC to remain committed to their duties, and asked them to be focused on the traffic control at all times, instead of concentrating on the arrest of the commuters.
On his part, the Unit Commander of the FRSC in Gwagwalada, Mr. Sunday O. Attah, urged drivers to avoid reckless driving on the road.
Attah called on the authorities of the transport unions in Gwagwalada to always sensitise their drivers against overloading, noting that overloading kills.
