Niger govt refunds N67m to 2019 pilgrims

The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has been commended for his prompt approval of Sixty Seven Million (67,000,000) Naira to be disbursed to the 2019 Hajj pilgrims.
The Acting Executive Secretary of Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai gave this commendation at the Chanchaga Local Government Area when he refunded a sum of Fourteen Thousand, Two Hundred and Eighty Five Naira (N14,285) to the pilgrims that performed this year’s pilgrimage through Chanchaga Local Government Area.
Makun Lapai added that the refund that came from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), was for some services not rendered to pilgrims while in the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia and intending pilgrims that have paid their money but could not travel due to health challenges, pregnancy or some other personal issues as well as refund for the return ticket of a dead and a missing Pilgrims that couldn’t come back to Nigeria.
The Acting Secretary urged all 2019 to go to their Local Government of payments with their International Passports and collect the refund.
He advised the Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers to be upright in discharging their duties as they are given two weeks to complete the exercise in order to meet up with the NAHCON dateline.
The official commencement of the refund has started all over the state with official flag off and some symbolic presentations at Chanchaga in Zone B, Bida in Zone A and Wushishi in Zone C.
