The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has condemned in strong terms the mindless attack by unknown gunmen on innocent people in Kwatas village, Bokkos local government area of Plateau state.
Lalong, in a statement signed by his media aide, Makut Simon Macham, described the attack as “yet another attempt by criminals who do not mean well for the state to take it back to the dark days of insecurity that it has substantially overcome”.
While commiserating the victims and families of those killed, Lalong directed security operatives to track down the perpetrators of such heinous crime, ensure their arrest and prosecution as the state will no longer tolerate the wanton loss of lives.
He said, “My heart bleeds by this tragedy as lives of innocent citizens are cut short of no reason. Security agencies must go after those evils that are behind these attacks and their sponsors so they can face the law and be taught a lesson”.
According to the governor, Plateau state don’t need circle of bloodshed anymore.
Lalong vowed that his administration will not give a chance to anybody or group to jeopardize peace.
He restated commitments to working with the central government and relevant stakeholders in strengthening community policing architecture in the state with robust intelligence gathering and early intervention to forestall recurrence.
