NDE empowers 200 beneficiaries with startup capital in Niger

National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger State has provided starter capital to 200 selected beneficiaries from Suleja Emirate Council who were trained in different petty businesses in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Mahdul Taqwa Foundation.
The beneficiaries were earlier trained by the directorate under Micro Economic Enhancement Scheme (MEES) at the weekend given seed money so as to grow their individual businesses in to fruition hence they were selected by the Non-Governmental Organization and funded by the Former Minister of Solid Minerals, Hon. Abubakar Bawa Bwari.
NDE Director General, Dr Nasir Ladan Argungu represented by Muhammadu Jimada assured that the agency will not relent in ensuring that Nigerians becomes productive in all spheres and business endeavours urging the beneficiaries to be determined to succeed through hard work and commitment.
He said that starting a small may be hard but growing up the business was much easier a long as there was commitment and determination to succeed while counting themselves lucky to be selected from the several unemployed.
The DG maintained that the directorate will continued in its core mandates to redress unemployment problems, create job opportunities and empower the citizens of this country, noted that the beneficiaries consisted of youths and majority women making massa, kosayi, akamu and other small local businesses.
In his remarks, Abubakar Bawa Bwari commended NDE for stemming unemployment in the country and federal government planned programmes in providing jobs for millions of Nigerians may not be realized without partnership with the private and corporate bodies.
He said, “what we have been doing is to plant seeds and hope they grow in to fruits for the benefit of humanity” he stated.
The Speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, Bar. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, Commissioners of Information and that of Environment, Local Government chairmen under same emirate council that includes Gurara, Tafa and Suleja were in attendance of the event held in Suleja.
It would be recalled that last year February 6th NDE in collaboration with the same former minister embarked on same empowerment programme.
