The Chairman Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend John Joseph Hayab has said all criminals should be treated as such notwithstanding his or her religion or tribal affiliation.
He stated this in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
Rev.Hayab who was reacting to the arrest of an alleged suicide bomber at Living Faith Church Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State said the more concern about criminal activities of the suspect not his name or his tribe.
The CAN chairman described the incident as unfortunate, saying it the challenge here is a poor background check of people by security agencies.
“We are not professional in understanding bomb devices so the police bomb squad should tell Nigeria what they found on the boy.
“We are against any crime and we will not tolerate or support anyone because he bears a Christian name.
“We are getting conflicting stories about his names, age and the device he carried.
“We will love a good background check about his mental state,his identity and motive .” The statement reads
However more facts have emerged on the identities of the alleged bomber, he is said to be a 30 years old,Nathaniel Samuel Sayawa by tribe from Bauchi State
He is said to be drug addict and usually engaged in stealing and theft.
