This development was reached at the state Executive Council weekly meeting held at the Council of the Dougeri Hill, Government House Yola yesterday after adopting the white paper towards that regard.
Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr. Garba Umar Pella dropped the hint, stressing that an established committee for the evaluation of the Adamawa State Civil Service conducted and submitted its report since last year.
Dr.Pella explained that the Council approved the gradual phasing out of the position of the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the state civil service which was only created by previous administrations to settle political interest.
“Henceforth, there will be no promotion to that rank as the council resolved on a total reform to sanitize the state civil service to ensure its functions in accordance with the law in tune with global best practices, “ Pella said.
