The Founder of the Greenspring Schools, Lagos, Mrs Lai Koiki, has advised the Federal Government and parents to rehabilitate out-of-school children across the country.
Speaking during the school’s 35th anniversary held recently in Lagos, Koiki, who expressed concern over the increasing population of out-of-school children in the country, also implored the affluent in the society to contribute their quota to education and welfare of pupils in public schools.
She said, “If we don’t help to rehabilitate out-of-school children, then it means we are not safe. We need to touch them in the little way that we can. Let us try to help our community. This will give us a society that is safe.”
Koiki also stressed the need for pupils to be encouraged to embrace the learning of technology subjects. “Mathematics and English Language subjects are going into extinction as technology is taking over. The pupils should be encouraged in this line,” she said.
