A Non-Governmental Organization known as Ethnic Youth Leaders for Peace in Nigeria(EYLPN) has condemned in a very strong terms attempt to create a commission for repentant Boko Haram members in the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Abuja, the Director General of the group,Comrade Franklyne Edede alleged that the plot is just to make some section of the country irrelevant.
According to Edede,” you proscribed a peaceful group Indegenous People of Biafra(IPOP) while romancing with dreaded and blood sucking Boko Haram as if that was not enough you want to empower them through a Commission.”
Responding to question on how to achieve peace in the region, the group maintained that “ until the government begin to be sincere in all their dealings as well as provide citizenry with basic human needs, insecurity problems will continue in the country.”
Comrade Edede further alleged that the federal government has some secret deals and agenda to be executed by the insurgency, lamenting that most traditional leaders and religious leaders who supposed to be bold to tell the truth in the face of all injustices, have compromised because of stomach infrastructure.
He explained, “Most religious and traditional leaders have compromised in this country, they refused to play their role but am very optimistic that the upcoming generation will never allow it to continue.
He also blamed the federal government for its inability to rejig the nation’s security architecture claiming that most people especially the commoners can now see where the country’s problem are coming from.
“We can now see clearly that there are hidden agenda from this government”.
It would be recalled that the Bill for the establishment of the National Agency for Education, Rehabilitation, De-radicalization and Integration of repentant Boko Haram members have scale through first reading in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.
