According to him, the Committee oversees the activities of the SON MSC to ensure that its services are run in transparent and fair manners without prejudice and discrimination against any applicant in relation to size, type of business, financial or political background.
Barr. Kawu stated that the Impartiality Committee ensures that SON MSC observes absolute confidentiality of information, a transparent complaint handling and appeal procedure, dispute resolution according to local laws; adherence to high ethical standards based on integrity, trust and honesty; as well as a stringent data protection policy on our clients.
He disclosed that the Committee’s membership consists of highly competent members of SON management from various departments like Legal Services, Metrology, Product Certification and Operations whose experiences and responsibilities are crucial to the management systems certification services.
The Abuja meeting according to him was to among others interact with the new Director, SON MSC, Engr. Felix Nyado following the retirement of the erstwhile Director, to review the last audit exercise by the international accreditation body, the certifications carried out in 2019 and the plans of the services for 2020.
