Mob beat Edo community leader for allegedly raping 13-year-old girl

Abudu village head (Odionwere) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, was on Monday beaten to a pulp by mob for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
It was gathered that the alleged Paedophile identified as Mr Sunday Izekor who is also a single parent, has been putting his feelings into words during riddles and jokes with teenagers in the village before the incident.
A terrified witnesses told our Correspondent that the cry of the underaged Orphan whose name was given as Gift, attracted the attention the mob who descended on village head.
“The man, Mr Izekor had wilfully indulged in public mischief by sleeping with the girl. A Child that is just 13-year-old”, the witness lamented over the abominable act.
Our correspondent reports that the intervention of police operatives attached to Abudu Division however rescued Mr Izekor from the pangs of death and kept him in protective custody of the police.
It was not clear if a Pathologist recorded her scratches and bruises in miss Gift’s vagina as at the time of filing this report.
But, Spokesman of the Nigeria police, Edo State Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he has not been briefed about the incident.
“I am not aware. I have not been briefed”, he said.
