Fresh crisis hits Aniocha South PDP over alleged imposition

Fresh crisis of confidence and alleged imposition of leadership have enveloped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta aftermath of the congress elections in the area.
It was gathered that the party congress that produced one Mike Okwufulueze as chairman of the party in the Local Government Area, was allegedly marred with frauds, a situation some aggrieved members who are also chieftains of the party described as the beginning of the another round of crisis.
Speaking to journalists in the area on Thursday, a chieftain of the party in the area, Barr Victor Onyegbu Nobei, said that his political camp opposed to the outcome of Saturday, March 21, 2023 Aniocha South PDP Congress because it was Contrary to the agreement reached during a meeting between the leaders of the Party in Aniocha South and the State Party Chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso in his office, adding that the result of the election never reflect the will of majority of the people.
He said that during the meeting, Barr Victor Nobei explained” the state Chairman of the Party, Barr Kingsley Esiso Called on the leaders of the Party in Aniocha South who were present in his office in Asaba to resort to Consensus in filling the vacant positions” adding that” he zoned the following Positions to Ogwashi Uku Community Chairman, One Ex officio member , Assistant Secretary, Legal Adviser and Organising Secretary”.
He alleged that about three days to the Congresses, rumour emerged that the other group had submitted a list to the Party instead of Coming back home for a Collective agreement, saying “We were prevented from participating in the Congress, the Man who fraudulently emerged, Mike Okwufulueze is from the same ward3, as the Local Government Council Chairman and where the local government secretary and the party’s local government youth leader also hail from” adding that” all these positions are Concetrated in one ward and in one family in Ogwashi Uku Community”.
According to him,” the Congress Electoral Committee of the Party in Aniocha South met and decided to zone the Chairmanship of the party in the Council to ward One, Ogwashi Uku Community, Ward 1 has never produced any state or local government Chapter Position in the party right from its inception”
But in a swift reaction, the state Chairman of the Party, Barr Kingsley Esiso dispelled the alleged imposition of Chairmanship in Aniocha South Local Government Area as untrue, adding that the Council Congress was Conducted peacefully in accordance with the party rules and regulations and warned that those warning up for trouble shall be treated with strong hands as well as ensure they are expelled from the party.
Also, the Chairman of the party in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Mike Okwufulueze said that he was duely elected as Chairman and warned opposition camp to desist of issue capable of destroying the party, especially with a view to bringing the party down for the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) to win in the area.
