A Benin Mobile Court sitting at Urhokpota premises has convicted 30 offenders for violating the Edo State Infectious Disease (Emergency Prevention) Regulation 2020.
The Coordinator of Covid-19 Mobile Court in Benin metropolis, Mrs Beatrice Imade disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen on Thursday in Benin City.
According to her, the offenders were arraigned on selling non essential items without adhering to social distance, selling in non designated areas, holding gathering of more than 20 persons among others.
She revealed that the offenders are not sent to correctional centre but to Carry out community service in line with the state government Non custodian regulation.
