Date:

From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

The Zamfara State Security Committee on COVID-19 has expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance shown by travellers to the extended order for border closure by Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle.
This was declosed by the Zamfara State Chairman, Security Committee on COVID-19 who doubles as the state Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Nagogo during a visit to ‘Yankara border with Katsina state yesterday.
Addressing security personnel comprising men of the Nigerian Police, Nigerian army and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) stationed at the border, CP Nagogo warned that them to stick to the rules of engagement in ensuring that all travellers that were eligible to enter the state, must be tested by health personnel no matter what class they may belong.
He further urged the security personnel to extend their watch on other routes in the bush which could be used as alternative by law breakers.
“I am directing you, to ensure all other possible routes by the nearby bush are regularly checked up as people who know that they are not eligible to pass into the state may begin to think of where they can use as alternative.
“This is between life and death, therefore, you must double your efforts to ensure that COVID-19 did not in anyway find Zamfara as a place to visit, work harder to prevent the state from having any record of it”, CP Nagogo warned.
