Sen. Folarin distributes rice to Muslims in Oyo

Sen. Teslim Folarin (APC-Oyo Central) has commenced the distribution of more than 1,000 bags of rice to Muslims in Oyo State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the distribution exercise which commenced on Monday in Ibadan is still ongoing.
NAN also reports that the exercise is expected to cover 20 local governments in the state out of which 11 are in Oyo Central Senatorial District while nine are in Oyo South Senatorial District.
Folarin said the initiative was imperative because of the need to assist Muslims during the Ramadan as the COVID-19 pandemic had negatively impacted on means of livelihood.
“I know for a fact that it will take time to overcome the economic and financial hardship COVID-19 foisted on us, but we must always look for ways to support our people.
” We will continue to do this for our constituents,” he said.
NAN recalls that Folarin, the Ayingun Olubadan of Ibadanland, had earlier distributed more than 1,000 bags of rice and other food items in two batches as COVID-19 palliatives to his constituents.(NAN)
