Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has suspended one of its leaders, Nandom Penap.
The former council chairman for Langtang North was suspended alongside seven others for forming a parallel state executive.
A statement on Saturday by the Head of Media, State Caretaker Committee of the party, John Akans, said,
“The working committee arm of the Plateau State caretaker committee at its emergency meeting this evening (Friday) held at the state secretariat to review the unfortunate incident at the secretariat, where some groups of rascals mischievously constituted themselves into a caretaker committee which is an affront on national leadership of our party under the leadership of Prince Uche Secondus.
“The state leadership of the party frowns on these dissidents and therefore approved their immediate suspension from the party with immediate effect.
“The attempt by this groups of rascals is not only laughable and mischievous but infantile and an act of lawlessness to the extreme which the party cannot condone.
“Consequently, a seven- man disciplinary committee has been constituted to look into the activities of these persons.”
The statement listed the names of others affected by the suspension as Godwin Bedir, Akims Mamot, Asabe Dareng, Nathaniel Dakas, Jecob Dashe and Kabiru Musa.
