Eid-el-fitr: Monarch urges Muslims to seek Allah’s intervention in coronavirus scourge

The Chairman of Yoruba Council of Obas and Chiefs Ambassador Muhammad Arigdabuwo
has expressed solidarity and felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of 2020 Eid-el-fitr celebration.
In a statement he personally signed, Arigdabuwo
said he is aware that the month of Ramadan is so central in Muslims religion and therefore dear to them at personal and communal levels.
According to him, this year’s Ramadan came at a very critical and trying moment for the entire world given the challenge and fear posed by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
“In spite of the trying situation, we are glad that you did not allow the prevailing challenge to rob you of the joy and blessings of this Holy month.
“Therefore, we hopefully look forward to greater and more fruitful days together as we work to defeat the virus as well as promote peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence in all our communities.
“As we together pray for the end of Covid-19, may we also continue to ask Allah for the gift of peace and sincere human solidarity in love for the dignity and good of all in the world,” the statement said.
”We pray for you our Muslim brothers and sisters for your successful completion of the month of fasting and for a great celebration of the feast of Eid al-Fitr.
” We pray that through this just concluded acts of fasting, prayers and alms-giving you may find grace and favour in Allah’s eyes and may you have a happy and holy celebration, “he said.
The monarch advised the people to follow the measure put in place to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, by practicing personal hygiene, washing hands keeping social distance wearing mask when outside and stay at home.
