The operatives of the Makurdi zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested three fraudsters who specialize in defrauding innocent Nigerians by using bank details obtained through sim swaps and Automated Teller Machines (ATM).
The suspects according to EFCC head of Publicity Mr. Dele Oyewale include, Michael Damhindi 36 year, a security guard with First Bank, North bank area, Makurdi. Others are Chidi Emmanuel Aniekwe 32 year, and Terhemba Iorhen, 35 year.
They were arrested at First Bank, North bank area, Makurdi.
It was learnt that their modus operandi is to station themselves around ATM machine to help those who want to withdraw money.
Upon arrest, items recovered from them include, 1 Mazda millennia car, 31 ATM cards of different bankse bearing different names, 10 smart Phones 9 Nokia phones, 2 laptops, 16 starter sim packs, different kinds of SIM cards of various networks, 1 glo modem, 1 flash drive and fake currency notes.
