The Niger State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC has denied the removal of its spokes person known as the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Idris A. Abini and allegedly replaced him with another person was a lie and fake news.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the party spokesman and made available to journalists in Minna, who debunked that such information was misleading and be discarded.
According to him “the attention of the party has been drawn to a meeting held by some members on the 6th July, 2020 where they purportedly impeached Idris A. Abini, the state PRO of the party and subsequent appointment of another person who is not a member of the existing executives as a replacement.
“This action is strange and unknown to the constitution of the party and therefore null and void”.
He further stated that “in same vein, the resolution reached at an alleged meeting purporting to have install the Zonal Executives of Niger North (Zone C) remains null and void”.
The spokesman Abini insisted that Engr. Mohammad Jibril Imam remained the State Chairman of the APC in Niger state noting that only executive members of APC that are constitutionally recognized were those that were elected and inaugurated in 2018.
He reiterated that “any meeting called by anybody in the name of the party other than the one called by the State Party Chairman, Engr.
Mohammad Jibril Imam remains a nullity” he stated.
It could be recalled that one Hassan Idris Wakili who was disqualified as a serving civil servant in the state during the party election was alleged to be the replacement which is untrue just as the State APC PRO remains Idris A. Abini.
