A Group under the auspices of Onaiyekan Foundation for peace in collaboration with Development and Peace Initiative ( JPDC) yesterday organized a one day sensitization programme for church leaders on measures to check the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking during the program which took place in Asuwan Magani Kajuru Local Government Area, representative of Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace, Rev Father Raphael Diggah, said the programme is to further deepens the knowledge of the participants on the COVID 19 protocols to prevent them from contracting the diseases
Similarly, the Head of programme, of JPDC Emmanuel Sunday Tagwai said COVID-19 is real and to curtail it people have to be enlightened as government can not do it alone.
The programme has in attendance participants from eleven wards of the local government area, aimed at creating awareness and measures to be taken to prevent the disease from rapid spread.
The training also dwelled on practicing good hygiene, washing of hands with soap and water, use of sanitizers, wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing among others.
The emergence of the COVID 19 that has brought world economies to its knees has not spared Nigeria too. This has seen stakeholders partnering with governments to combat the spread of the virus.
Participants said they will continue to sensitize their people, to prevent the spread of the disease.
