Niger Maize Farmers refute protest against CBN loan template.

Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN) Niger State Chapter has said that the association members never complained nor protested against the purported CBN 2020 Anchor Borrowers Programme temple in the state.
This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to journalists yesterday in Minna by Hajiya Aishatu G Abdullahi for the state chairman, saying that the flag off of the distribution of items was peaceful in Chanchaga local government.
She disclosed that 112 had benefited during the distribution out of 142 farmers who applied for this year’s farming season, adding that the alleged protest by its members was untrue and never faulted CBN template for the Programme.
The statement stated that for clarification “the N3,000 deposit is for registration, which is mandatory for all up to date members, while N20,000 is for beneficiaries equity contribution pay into Unity Bank account in which members are paying without complaint.
“The facility is to be paid with produce at the prevailing market price against the claimed 30 bags per hectare as credited to one Alhaji Usman Kwatu as published”.
According to the statement, “the general public and all concerned authorities hereby appealed to disregard the said publication in some national dailies as it was aimed to disrupt the Programme in the state as well tarnish the reputation of the MAAN leadership” it stated.
