Fintiri flags off N5.8b flyover in Adamawa

As a step to join the global urbanisation stride, the Adamawa state government yesterday flagged off a first ever construction of central flyover and underpass in the state capital worth N5.8 billion.
Launching the official groundbreaking ceremony of the project,Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri announced that the event marks a milestone in the administration commitment to actualizing its key campaign promises.
Governor Fintiri stated that towards this direction, government is vigorously undertaking an urban renewal that will make Jimeta, Yola and other towns in the state befitting models to showcase.
“in keeping with these obligations, government has already commenced the construction of roads in Michika and Madagali towns, while the provision of roads and health infrastructure in Yola South, Numan, Fufore and other Local government officials Areas will follow same.
“In addition to the construction of these flyovers and underpass, which are the flagship of our urban renewal agenda, works will continue on the Weekly Scope road among other township already earmarked for construction “,Fintiri added.
He reiterated that apart from the aesthetics, the construction of the flyover and the great inter change in the heart of Jimeta is an anticipation of the capital ever expanding population and attendance explosion in urban traffic.
Governor Fintiri observed that to those who have been counseling that government is biting more than it can chew with this project, government assures of total commitment to delivering this project and will not concede any inch to failure.
Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku Abubakar said the project which is expected to commence immediately is scheduled to be completed in twelve calendar months according to the contractual agreement.
