Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Thursday forwarded the name that will replace his former Commissioner, who died in office, to the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Recall that the former Speaker, who until his death, was Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola, died on14th of May. Since then, the office has been vacant.
Makinde, on Thursday, forwarded the Barrister Lateef Idowu Oyeleke’s name for consideration.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, who read the name of the nominee, said the appointment became imperative to fill the vacuum created by the death of Ayoola, who until his sudden demise, was the Commissioner in the Ministry.
Ogundoyin said the screening of Oyeleke will be given prompt attention to enable the Ministry to cover lost ground occasioned by the sudden death of the former Commissioner.
He added that the house has directed the Commissioner nominee to submit copies of his Curriculum vitae to the House on or before the 10th of August, 2020.
Ogundoyin said, “The Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources just like others like it is pivotal to every Government hence the need for the vacuum to be filled.
“So we appreciate the Governor for his prompt action in sending another Commissioner nominee to commence work in the Ministry”.
