The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has urged its members nationwide to keep vigil towards ensuring that votes count in the September 19, 2020 Governorship election in Edo State.
Chairman of Edo State Campaign Council of the party, Chief Dan Orbih disclosed this on Thursday at Ward 11 rally in Evbhohi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the State.
Orbih, vowed that they will not only mobilise members of the party and its supporters to vote, but, would ensure that the votes count.
According to him, “They said that they want to print ballot papers, if they try it, they will know that Esan people are strong.
“We will not sleep. We are doing everything possible to ensure that you vote and votes count.
“We will not allow anybody to subvert the will of the people.
“In these election, we will not only vote, but, we must defend our votes”, he said.
On his part, the PDP Candidate in the election, Governor Godwin Obaseki, urged members of the party and its supporters not to succumb to threats and intimidation, adding that Edo State and Nigeria do not belong to a few people.
Obaseki who described Edo Central Senatorial district of the State as PDP enclave, declared that, ‘nobody or group of people can take us backward again. These election will remove the godfather in Edo”.
