Gbajabiamila launches empowerment programme for 1,300 persons in Daura

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has urged elected Representatives to add value to the people in their various constituencies.
Gbajabiamila stated this at the launching of empowerment packages to 1,300 young men and women provided by the member representing Daura/Sandamu/Maiadua Federal constituency, Hon. Fatuhu Muhammad in Daura at the weekend.
According to him, such empowerment packages would assist the less privileged sustain themselves, their families and improve the socio economic growth of their areas.
The Speaker who was in company of the deputy Speaker, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase commended the efforts of the lawmaker for demonstrating his trust and care for the people of his constituency.
“The Lawmaker is the best ever produced in katsina state to exhibit such exemplary gesture. It took me two terms to accomplish what Fatuhu achieved in just one year”, he said.
He therefore enjoined other lawmakers to emulate the Daura Lawmaker to improve the quality of living of their electorates.
In a remark, Governor Aminu Bello Masari who appreciated the efforts of the member for the gesture, advised him to adopt mechanism for monitoring the utilization of the empowerment packages to avoid wastages.
The Governor who urged party leaders in the constituency to cooperate with the Lawmaker to enable him bring desired development in the constituency, warned beneficiaries to guard against any attempt to dispose the packages for any reason.
Earlier, the member representing Daura/Sandamu/Maiadua Federal constituency, Hon Fatuhu Muhammad the empowerment programme came up as a result of the recommendations of a committee headed by Alhaji Lawal Aliyu Daura, Special Adviser, Human Capital Development mandated to identify needs and aspirations of people of the constituency.
Some of the items distributed include three hundred and sixty motorcycles, four hundred sewing machines, three hundred and eighty grinding machines five hundred car washing machines, one hundred Spaghetti making machines and ten tricycles.
