CBN: Niger accesses N1.5b to boost agric, empower 10,000 youths

Niger state government has accessed Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Accelerated Agriculture Development Scheme for 2018 scheme to boost the production of Rice, Maize and Soya Beans in the state.
Commissioner for Livestock and Fisheries, Alhaji Haruna Dukku said this while briefing pressmen at government house after the state council meeting held in Minna.
He stated that no fewer than 10,000 youths from the ages between 18 to 35 years will benefit from the various agricultural activities mainly for infrastructural development at different local communities in the state.
Dukku reaffirmed the state government determination to give agriculture the desired priority in the state, hence the state agriculture transformation agenda.
He added that 45 years old abandoned Rice Mill in Bida constructed by Korea and handed over to Niger state government to receive attention of government after Korean Embassy expressed worried over the abandonment.
