Niger state Government has dismissed no fewer than eighty (80) civil servants cut across different cadres from various ministries and Parastatals for defrauding the state worth millions of naira over the years.
The Head of Service (HOS), Hajiya Salamatu Abubakar made the disclosure yesterday while addressing journalists in Government house after the state executive council meeting, saying that the verification exercise still on going.
She said that the Salary Management Committee set up by governor Abubakar Sani Bello has submitted its interim report just as the council resolved as recommended to sack the affected workers after making confessional statement to have committed the fraud.
Hajiya Abubakar explained that the list of the affected has been sent to the State Civil Service Commission who will prepare their sack letters noted that the office of Auditor General of the state is in charge of the exercise.
She added that the MDAs affected for now to include; Hospital Management Board with 45 staff involved, state Judiciary 22, Primary Health Care Development Agency 3, Ministry of Health 7, Ministry of Education 1 while School of Midwifery Minna and that of Tunga Magajiya has 1 and 2 respectively.
