National confab is necessary in Nigeria, Kwara delegates

Senator Gbemisola Saraki and Mr John Dara who are representing North Central at the ongoing National conference have described the conference as a necessary dialogue that Nigeria need frequently.

Senator Gbemisola Saraki in an interview with Journalists in Ilorin said the confab was not a wasting of time stressing that it is very important to unite the country.

“We have 150 million people with some many ethnic tribes and different languages. We have over 300 languages in Nigeria, and we live together in harmony. We need to talk constant, we need to have confab every day, every time to keep making adjustment for improvement.

“The manner in, which we want to live changes and our relationship with people, will change. So I do not see how coming together to discuss can be a waste of resources.

“I am honoured to be one of the people there representing the North Central Zone. I am honoured to be one of the Nigerians who have been put forward to talk, discuss and debate. I do not think it is a waste of time. We need to keep doing it constantly as it is done everywhere else.”

Dara in his remark said the National Conference is a big opportunity for Nigeria to address the future of the country.

“We have been very worried about the future of our country. What the conference has done is that, through the wisdom of our President,, we now have platform where all grievances and disagreements can be brought on the table. Then we would as mature and patriotic citizens find solution to the problems.

“That is well demonstrated in the first two weeks. It was said the conference will come to an end and that it will signal the end of Nigeria. But by what we did yesterday, we have come up with ingenious compromise that has satisfied the yearning of every delegates from every part of the country.

“The implication is that at the end of this conference, Nigerians would have clarified their vision about what the future should be. Nigerians would have exercise boldness in taking the country in the direction, it ought to go.

“That is to say, the part we have neglected in the past, we will now embrace it and speedily move on to the Promised Land so that Nigeria will fulfill its destiny as the greatest black nation in the world and to be among the top nations of the world in the 50 years or thereabout.”
