NDE staff in Police net over child abuse in Katsina

Katsina police command has arrested a 45 year old, Rahama Sani of the National Directorate of Employment, Katsina state office over alleged abuse of six year old Abdulqadir Mu’awuya.
Parading the suspect weekend in Katsina the state command spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah said the boy under the costody of the suspect had multiple injuries and fracture on his right leg.
He noted when the woman was arrested and the boy rescued he was take by the police to a hospital where he received medical attention.
However in an interview the father of the boy, Malam Mu’awuya said he handed his son to the woman for safe keeping after the divorce of his mother.
According to him for the past six month he has been calling the woman to enquire about my son but he alleged “ she kept avoiding me and not taking my calls”.
Mu’awuya added the it was a child rights group, ‘Community Information and Advocacy Initiatives’ based in Katsina that help him in finding the condition of his son.
Also speaking, the suspect, Malama Rahama Sani denied inflicting injuries on the child, adding that the boy had injuries before he was handed over to her by his father.
However Our Correspondents observed that apart from the fracture and multiple injuries on the child’s body there was also attempt to cut off his genitals.
SP Isah said she would be taken to court after the conclusion of investigation.
