3 in Jigawa NSCDC net over illicit drugs

Three young men, identified as the notorious drug dealers in Gagarawa local government area, were yesterday nabbed by the Jigawa state command of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The trio were arrested for alleged trading, consumption and distribution of substances believed to be hard drugs in the local government area of the state.

According the state commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Muhammad Gidado, while briefing news men in Dutse, said the suspects were arrested in the said local government area of the state for the offences of selling, distributing as well as taking substances known as tubes of rubber solutions, bottles of spirits and Indian hemp.

The commandant added that the suspected dealers were identified as Aliyu Abubakar, 35, from Habatsai town, Mansur Saje, 25, of Gagarawa Tasha and Aliyu Ibrahim, also from Gagarawa town.

He said the suspects, all of whom have confessed to committing the crimes, would immediately be handed over to the NDLEA for outright prosecution.
