NBBF to woo Bam Adebayo to play for Nigeria

By Amaechi Agbo

The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) is exploring the possibility of convincing Miami Heat Center, Bam Adebayo to commit his international future to Nigeria.
Born in the United States, Adebayo is also eligible to play for the D’Tigers by virtue of his father being a Nigerian.
President of the NBBF, Musa Kida revealed that the Federation would love to have Adebayo on Nigeria’s roster for next year’s Olympics: “having Bam in the National team is a possibility that we are considering as a federation ahead of the 2020 Olympics and beyond,” he said.
Although Adebayo has been named in USA’s 44-man roster, the Nigerian option is open to him if he wants to join coach Brown’s team to Tokyo.
“We are excited about how far he has gone and what he can achieve in his career with D’Tigers if he chooses to play for Nigeria,” Kida said
Adebayo has been in a good form this season, helping Miami Heat win Eastern Conference Title in the NBA Playoffs, and it’s quite evident how much they have missed him in NBA Finals after he suffered an injury in Game 1.
He will undoubtedly improve DTigers, if he chooses Nigeria.
