NIPC reconstitutes its Anti-Corruption, TransparencyUnit

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, (NIPC), has reconstituted its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) team, as the Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Offences Commission (ICPC) inaugurated and inducted the chairman, secretary and members of the Unit on Monday.
The ACTU was established by the ICPC as one of the implementation mechanisms for its mandate on prohibition and prevention of corruption especially in the Public Service.
The Unit in NIPC which is part of its management’s continued efforts at entrenching transparency is expected to monitor compliance, promote ethics, integrity and support NIPC’s commitment to zero tolerance for corruption.
NIPC’s Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Yewande Sadiku said that she looks forward to NIPC’s ACTU delivering on their mandate; and assured that they have the full support of management.
She also affirmed her commitment and that of Management to ensuring the independence of ACTU.
Representative of the ICPC Chairman, Mr Olayinka Aiyegbayo said that the inauguration demonstrated NIPC’s support to government’s stance in seeing ACTU as a veritable instrument in fighting corruption in the public service.
The leadership of NIPC’s ACTU is headed by Mrs Uchenna Okonkwo, with Mr Bello Hamidu as Secretary.
