The Chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido called on the Muslims to reflect on the significance of the Eid-el Maulud celebration, by always promoting peaceful coexistence with people of other religions.
Candido, while felicitating with all Muslim faithful in the Council on the occasion of Eid- Maulud, urged them to emulate the life and tenets of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), who preaches peace and tolerance among neighbours.
According to a statement from the Head of Information and Public Relations in AMAC, Mrs. Patience Olaloye, the Chairman also called on the teeming youth in the Council to embrace peace, eschew violence and explore dialogue in expressing their grievances and demands to achieve a desired result.
He added that the populace especially the youth should shun all social vices, so as to allow the country progress to path of greatness.
He also used the occasion to appeal to all residents of the Council to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses, stressing that government is making concerted efforts to ensuring protection of lives and properties across the country.
