Katsina budgets N285.7bn for 2021

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has presented a proposed budget of N285,787,930,656.00 billion to the state house of assembly for the2021 financial year.
The budget tagged “ Budget of recovery and consolidation” Masari said was meant to complete ongoing projects and initiate new ones.
Masari added that the budget was mad up of capital expenditure of N196,161,842,911.00 billion representing 70 percent of the total budget estimate while the sum of N86,426,087,744.00 was earmarked for recurent expenditure representing 30percent of the budget estimate.
A sectoral breakdown of the budgets shows that the sum of N135.9 billion was allocated to economic sector, N104.1 billion for social sector, N38.030 billion for administration and N4.6 billion for law.
Further highlight of the budgets shows that the sum of N19.2 billing was allocated to the education sector, N26.9billion health sector, N22.9 billion water resources, N20.9 billion agriculture, N43.8 billion works and N24.1 billion for environment.
Masari said despite the oubreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 the government was able to continue providing social services to the people of the state.
He noted that very soon the grassroot security arrangements initiated by his administration will take off to improve security across the state.
In a remark, the speaker of Katsina state house of assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Maigari Zango said the house will join hand with the executive in moving the state forward.
