The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has condemned the killing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nasarawa State Chairman, Philip Shekwo, who was abducted in his residence last Saturday and found dead on Sunday November 22.
In a statement issued yesterday by the National Publicity Secretary of IPAC, Agbo Major, the Council which lamented the killing as outrageous, barbaric, despicable and sadism of the worst order, expressed saddened over the incident, urging security agents to swing into action and fish out the perpetrators of this murder and their sponsors and bring them to justice to serve as a deterrent to others who may contemplate this dastardly act.
IPAC stated that the killing is man’s inhumanity against man, enjoined security agents to also be pro-active in protecting lives and property of the citizenry, which it said is in tandem with section 14(2)b of the 1999 Constitution as amended, which provides that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.

“IPAC shares the grief of members of the late Philip Shekwo’s family and his political associates, and pray to God Almighty to console, comfort and strengthen them in this period of bereavement.

“IPAC is in the vanguard for the conduct of free, fair, credible, transparent and violence-free elections and urges politicians to shun do-or-die politics and brigandage as we jointly build a strong, virile, progressive and equitable democratic nation”, IPAC said in the statement.
