Benue Reps targets 5000 for medic treatment, awards scholarship to 800 students

Member, House of Representatives for Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo federal constituency Hon. Richard Gbande has embarked on a week long free medical outreach sponsored for over 5,000 constituents
The medical outreach according to his legislative aide Dr. Dickson Teran would be held between December 1st and 2nd at the General Hospital Sankera, Ukum Local Government Area,
“The outreach will also take place between 3rd and 4th at the LGEA Primary School Ugba, Logo LGA and on the 5th and 6th it will be the turn of the people of katsina-Ala and it will hold at Dr. Gbande’s constituency office in katsina-Ala town
“Already a formidable medical team has been put in place to ensure that the exercise which would take care of all the healthcare needs of the beneficiaries go on without hitches,” he said.
Dr. Gbande stated further that modalities had been put in place to commence the disbursement of funds of his scholarship scheme to the first batch of about 800 students in tertiary institutions from the 35 Council Wards in his federal constituency.
He said, “documentation of beneficiaries is almost completed, attention will now be focused on disbursement of the funds and in all these, special attention is given to the girl child, people with special needs and the very less privileged to help them attain their dreams of being well educated.”
He said it is in this light that he commenced “the construction of 12 classroom blocks with VIP’s toilet at Tongov Community Secondary School Amaafu and another three blocks of classroom at Utange Community Secondary School Kasar in Katsina – Ala LGA.
“In Ukum LGA there is also ongoing constructions of three(3) VIP classroom blocks with VIP Toilets at RCM Primary School Zaki Biam, while in Logo LGA, construction of three blocks of classroom & VIP toilet has reached an advance stage at Tombo community Secondary School Ayilamo.”
The lawmaker said he had also taken steps to address the water needs of his constituents by providing 10 motorized, solar powered and hand pump boreholes at Tse Akaangee, Mbatyula Mberev and Tse- Ndere, Mbagundu Mbakor in Katsina-Ala LGA.
“Other benefitting communities include Tse Ugboho, Agena Borikyo, Akpuuna Mbaterem and Tse-Kwaghbo Ucha in Ukum LGA and in Tse- Amatso & Ukemberagya/ Tswarev in Logo LGA,” he added.
