Involve traditional institutions in tackling insecurity – Sadaukin Ribadu tells FG

Sequel to the security challenges bedevilling the country, Federal government has been urged to accord traditional institutions active constitutional roles.
A community leader and newly turbaned Sadaukin Ribadu in Fufore Local government Area of Adamawa state,Alhaji Isiyaku Jauro Ismaila disclosed the development in an interview with Journalists, noting that the traditional rulers with their fatherly influence can contribute immensely in tackling insecurity.
Ismaila expressed concern over the increasing magnitude of crimes in our societies stressing that the government needs to re strategies involving the help of traditional rulers,who are the custodian of every activities of their subjects.
“Even before colonial rule,it was traditional institutions that were running the affairs of the people.It’s a well experienced institution.
“What we need as a government and as a people is to engage traditional rulers more.These leaders know the youth and their capacities and potentials and can therefore harness the youths for the good of themselves and for the larger society”. Sadaukin Ribadu maintained.
He also charged the people in our communities to support and cooperate with the government by dishing out useful information to its security agencies for better peaceful atmosphere .
He pledged to contribute immensely towards development of youth and women as a tittle holder in his community thanking his District head for conferring the tittle on him .
“If you want society to develop and be secured,you develop the youths .There is no better way to ensure security than to get the youths productively engaged”.He stated
Ribadu is a prominent district under Adamawa traditional council and has prominent public figures including;Nigeria’s first defence minister,Late Mahmud Ribadu (1909-1965) and pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,Mallam Nuhu Ribadu among others.
