The Nigeria Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Adamawa state command said it apprehended 200 suspected drug dealers and seized high magnitude of illicit drugs weighing 2,083,369 Kg from January to December 2020.
State Commander of the Agency,Idris Muhammad Bello made known the development on Monday in Yola.
He added that 57 convictions of different jail terms were secured and 58 cases are still on in the court.
Commander Bello stated that on rehabilitation of drug-addicts ,the Agency has 30 clients comprising of 25 males and 5 females on admission as 17 were discharged while 3 relapsed cases were reported in the Drug Demand Reduction Unit respectively.
Bello explained that 45 suspects were arrested with 11,431 illicit drugs this year alone and 41 litres of formalin solution, noting that his command has been sensitising the public on danger of drugs addiction through its Drug Abuse education programs.
