Premier League reports 16 positive Covid-19 cases

Date:

The English Premier League’s latest Coronavirus testing report has confirmed 16 positive cases.
The 16 cases is a notable drop after recently concerning highs of 36 and 40, where clubs like Aston Villa, Newcastle and Manchester City got heavily hit.
The period also led to an alarming series of postponed matches.
“Between Monday 11 January and Sunday 17 January, across two rounds of testing, 3,115 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there were 16 new positive tests,” the Premier League said in a statement.
Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.
