Activist lauds security onslaught against bandits, kidnappers, insurgents

The National Coordinator, National Volunteer Group, Mallam Yusuf Idris Amoke, has commended the Nigerian military for taking the battle to the camps of bandits, kidnappers and insurgents; saying Nigerians have had enough of their threats and time to put a final stop to their malicious activities.
He stated this in an interview with our Reporter in Kaduna yesterday.
He said the recent re – energized military and other security operations across the North, most especially along the deadly Abuja-Kaduna road has rekindled hopes that the government is capable of tackling the insecurity and therefore needs moral and all others support from citizens.
Amoke added that military has demonstrated firmness, capacity and tactical supremacy over the ragtag groups that have hitherto almost put the Nation to shame before the international community.
The Activist further said Nigerians knows the implication of insecurity in not just to the lives of victims but to the overall lives of people of the society, to those living withing and outside the society.
“ However, the fight is not close to be over yet, therefore, we call on the government to do more in raising the morale of our gallant men and women of our military and police, by providing the needed facilities and materials needed to deliver their duties without putting themselves in unnecessary risk.
“ Ensure their welfare and those of their immidiate family as well as ensuring a better life for their families should they fall while fighting for this great country.
“We wish our gallant military well on their life risking duty to protecting us all. We as well wish this government well and promise our unflinching support to secure this country once again.
“Boko haram, Banditry, kidnapping and other unfamiliar crimes which took over the centre stage of the country most especially the Northern part has become a national shame that has put our gallant security facility and our nation into a weak perspective.
“We have shouted and attacked the seemingly unwilling nature of the government to fight this menace to a hault as people were killed everyday without a corresponding demonstration of capacity to fight back.
“Women were kidnapped and rapped serially, school children abducted and instealled with “edufobia” , uncooperative farmers in villages were slaughtered like rams and those showing loyalty and corporation pay tax for both farming and harvest. Infact, villagers pay for clearance to hold marriage or naming ceremonies.
“These and many more left us helpless without choice than to keep the government on its toes to the extent of calling the government a failled one and we appreciate that the Government yeild to our cry” he said
