I won’t join issues with my detractors, says Fayose

The governorship flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said that he would not join issues with his political detractors who are bent on pulling him down ahead of the June 21 governorship election in the state.

The PDP flagbearer, while speaking with newsmen at the weekend, challenged his critics, who are currently accusing him of corruption and other sundry vices while in office, to come forward with fresh allegations because the old ones against him have been sufficiently addressed.

According to him, his main preoccupation now is to concentrate on his strategies in order to win the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti state and make life meaningful for the people of he state thereafter.

He said “I have vowed not to join any issue with anyone on any matter between now and the 21st of June 2014. My intention in to concentrate on our campaigns and ensure that we do not only win the election but that we win well.

“If it is this same old news of blackmail against my person, I will not join issues with them. If it is the issue of he is facing the EFCC; he’s a killer and all that, I’ll not join issues with them,” he vowed.

“Any government that is popular will not base its campaigns on propaganda about Ayo Fayose. But this is not a sign of weakness on my part or the admittance of such allegations; it is to show that Ayo Fayose is now matured,” he stressed.
