A group, Oduduwa Development Initiative (ODI) has raised concern over the current altercation going on between the National Security Adviser, Major Gen. Babagana Monguno’, one billion dollars arms fund comments, saying the NSA words were taken out of context.
Wondering why such harmless statement should be politicised amigns the security challenges current plaguing the country that needs all hands to be on deck.
A statement by ODI national president, Amb. Akinyele Olasumbo, in Abuja yesterday said the Initiative is therefore not unaware of a deliberate campaign of calumny and agitation for the removal of the NSA based on this harmless statement twisted by enemies of progress to defame the NSA.
“This is coming at a time when the nation is battling with widespread insecurity across the country and we require every ounce of concerted effort to stem the tide and restore confidence in the people.
“We wish to inform the general public that the NSA was quoted out of context by elements that are surreptitiously working towards the division of this nation and the people must be alerted.
He therefore urged the NSA not to be distracted or join issues with those who are deliberately working to derailed his efforts at guiding the country through this auspicious time.
We are express ling our support to the NSA in view of his dexterous activities, and wish to appreciate President Buhari profusely for believing in the NSA and to disregard unfounded allegations being leveled against the NSA with a caveat that having found him worthy as a round peg in a round hole.
