Sokoto, Rivers, Nasarawa Govs commission roads in Benue

Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal have stressed the need for Nigerians to continue to build bridges to earn the desired peace.
Tambuwal who said this in Gboko, the traditional home of the Tiv nation yesterday while commissioning a 1.6 kilometer road named after the first civilian Governor of Benue State Apollos Aper Aku, maintained that Benue and Sokoto State have over the years enjoyed tremendous relationship with each other right from the days of President Shehu Shagari.
He commended Governor Samuel Ortom for executing people-oriented projects in Gboko the Traditional Headquarters of Tiv people.
On his part, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike while commissioning the 2.5 kilometers Isaac Shaahu road lauded Governor Ortom for remembering history by naming the road after a second republic Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Wike noted that all PDP governors have fulfilled their social contract to their people across the PDP ruling states and urged other political parties to emulate them.
“PDP governors have fulfilled the contract they entered with their people across the States they are governing and I urge other parties to do same”, Wike advised.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, w hi i commissioned the 1 kilometer Prof Martin Dent road reiterated the need for the two(2) States to work together to secure her citizens.
Represented by his Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Mr. Philip Dada, the governor said he was happy with what his Benue counterpart is doing in alleviating the suffering of the people.
Governor Samuel Ortom said his administration has recognized history and hard work thereby naming the roads after prominent people.
Ortom said Prof Martin Dent who was a divisional head of Gboko Division was honoured because of his good works.
