Buhari yet to act on tripartite Committee recommendations – Omo-Agege says

The Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, yesterday revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to sit and act on the recommendations of the tripartite Committee comprising of party, legislature and the executive which was recently set up to deepen harmony in the polity.
Fielding questions from journalists yesterday in Abuja, Omo-Agege, who is a member of the committee, said a lot of recommendations has been made by the tripartite committee, but are not in the public domain and cannot be discussed.
Explaining how far the Committee has gone in its assignment, the Deputy President of the Senate said “That meeting is continuous. The bulk of the issues we discussed there and decisions taken are basically recommendations to Mr President, until he sits and acts on them, I am not at liberty to discuss those recommendations.
“Be that as it may, the Committee was put in place to bring cohesion between the executive arm, the legislative arm and the party. We had a couple of meetings so far so good.”
Also responding to questions from journalists, the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, said many governors and Nigerians are willing to join APC because it is a party where things are happening, adding that the party is moving Nigeria forward and waxing strong.
He said “I have a Committee that is called Mobilization of Youths, Women and People Living with Disabilities, mobilizing them to join our party. As much as we are mobilizing youths, women and people living with disabilities, we are equally mobilizing members of other political parties, including Governors.
“Remember, there are others that are youthful in body and those that are youthful in hearts, so we are bringing them into the party. You will see them in numbers. I told you that it is only one last Governor will be the last one to join our party and you can see that everybody is coming into the party because this is where things are happening.
“This is the party that is moving the country forward. That is why you see us strong and we are waxing stronger and moving forward in unison”, he said.
