The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has approved Edo State University Uzairue as the first Clinical accreditation Centre for Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) programme.
The recognition followed MDCN accreditation visitation team report to the University in January 2021, in the University update.
The approval makes it possible for Edo State University College of Medical Sciences of the University to conduct examinations in Pharmacology and Pathology for Medical students.
The breakthrough comes at a time when the pioneer set of Medical students of the institution is in 500 Level.
The University ranked 4th in Nigeria among 801 in the world in its first appearance in the 2021 assessment of Universities survey by the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
