Mob set man ablaze over alleged motorcycle theft in Benue

A young man who attempted to steal a motorcycle in Wurukum market Makurdi, Benue State capital was yesterday burnt to death.
An eye witness said the owner of the motorcycle had parked it and gone into the market to buy some items when the young man attempted to slot a key and start the motorcycle.
He was however, unlucky as someone spotted him and shouted”thief”.
Though he tried to run, eyewitnesses said he was caught and jungle Justice meted out on him.
Meanwhile, this is the third person that has been set ablaze at Wurukum in recent times.
The Police Public Relations’ Officer, DSP Catherine Anene who confirmed the incident said the Command condemned the act of jungle justice, maintaining that there are legal means of handling such issues.
