Youths block Kaduna-Kachia highway over kidnap of 15

Following the abduction of 15 persons early hours of yesterday in Ungwan Gimbiya, Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State, youths of the area have blocked the ever busy Kaduna-Kachia Highway, preventing free flow of traffic.
Peoples Daily reporter observed that the angry youths in their numbers, stormed the highway at about12 Noon and erected a blockade preventing commuters from plying both sides of the dual carriageway.
The actions of irate youths forced market and business premises around the area to hurriedly close.
However as of the time of filling in this report, troops have dispersed the angry youths and the road open to traffic. But the Youths promised to continue protest until justice is done on the incessant kidnappings in the area.
The kidnapping incidents occurred in the wee hours of yesterday at U/Gimbiya area of Sabon Tasha in Kaduna suburb,
15 people were allegedly whisked away by the kidnappers and unconfirmed report stated that a mother and her two kids were killed by the kidnappers.
The incidents happened as the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Baba paid a working visit to Kaduna command to rub minds with men and officers on the way forward.
Speaking shortly after meeting with Kaduna state governor, IGP Baba acknowledged that though there are challenges facing the policing of the country, but that the police will make te best use of resources at its disposal to protect law and order.
